Jana Lee Pruitt

Jana Lee Pruitt became Executive Director of the Kentucky Life & Health Insurance Guaranty Association (KLHIGA) on January 1, 2022. Prior to joining KLHIGA, she served as Regional Vice President of the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI), where her focus was on legislative and regulatory advocacy in assigned states.

Prior to joining the ACLI, Ms. Pruitt was in private law practice in New York, and she spent nine years as Senior Vice President and Executive Vice President of the Life Insurance Council of New York, Inc. (LICONY). Prior to joining LICONY, she was in private law practice in the District of Columbia and in Texas, and she served as Assistant General Counsel for Transamerica Occidental Life Insurance Company in Los Angeles and as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for ULLICO, Inc., in the District of Columbia.

Ms. Pruitt began her career in the insurance industry with the American Insurance Association in New York, moved to the District of Columbia with the Health Insurance Association of America, and then spent 10 years in the State Law Department of the ACLI before joining Transamerica. She received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Kentucky and her J.D. from the University of Louisville. She is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the District of Columbia, and the State of Texas. She also holds the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations from The American College of Financial Services.
